Solid Universal Joint (with Swing and Tilt Mechanism)
(Click to see larger image) Narishige's UST-1 is a solid, universal joint. Joint-type accessories give a stronger, more solid fix than ball joints, and also allow angles to be set freely. For the MHW-3, the UST-1 is used instead of the B-9 to enhance stability (whereas B-9 can rotate freely in addition to tilting and swinging).
