For example a camera with a "1/2 inch" chip works best with the 0.65x adapter. If you used it with the 1x adapter, the camera would show a zoomed-in version of the center of the image you see through the eyepieces. If you used the 0.35x adapter, you would see a "vignette" (the enire circular image you see through the eyepieces, within a black rectangle.
