(Click to see larger image) In order to make return/detachment of the pipette possible on your existing unit, the UT-5 proivdes this facility on the joint itself, making it a universal joint. There's a release function for manual pipette return/detachment, as well as a dual rotation mechanism that enables the pipette holder to be operated freely and can be finely adjusted in both swing and tilt axes.

UT-5A is a UT-5 with the joints removed leaving only the return mechanism. Your existing ball joints can be used to extend the range of functions.
