Recombinant Human Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-3-alpha (rHu MIP-3-a) is also known as LARC (Liver and Activation Regulated Chemokine) or CCL20. This protein is strongly up-regulated by inflammatory signals, and down-regulated by the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10.

MIP-3α is known primarily for its chemotactic function. rHu MIP-3α is expressed in the liver, lungs, lymph nodes and peripheral blood lymphocytes.? MIP-3α signals through the G protein-coupled receptor, CCR6, and acts as a chemoattractant to lymphocytes and dendritic cells. rHu MIP-3-alpha expressed in E. coli is a non-glycosylated polypeptide chain that consists of 70 amino acids and has a molecular weight of 8.0 kDa. |
