For studies that demand a polyclonal antibody with the highest specificity for Prostaglandin H Synthase 1 (PGHS-1), also known as Cyclooxygenase 1 (COX-1). This antibody was prepared by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide that corresponds to a sequence region unique to COX-1. This antibody is specific for COX-1 and reacts with native, as well as, recombinant COX-1 from several species including human, sheep and rat. However, it does not react with murine COX-1. It does not cross-react with COX-2 from any of the species examined to date.
