CXCL16 is a member of the CXC chemokine family whose expression is induced by the inflammatory cytokines IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha. CXCL16 is expressed as either a membrane bound form or a soluble form and exerts its effects through binding to the CXCR6 receptor.
