This protein is involved in regulation of ionic conductances and long-term synaptic plasticity and may play an important role in dephosphorylating substrates such as the postsynaptic density-associated Ca2+/calmodulin dependent protein kinase II. Recombinant human PPP1CC protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.
