Description
Purified anti-CaMKII. The Ca2+/calmodulin (CaM)-dependent protein kinases (CaMKs) are multifunctional serine/threonine kinases whose activity are regulated through Ca2+ signaling. CaMKII is expressed as a multimeric protein, which typically is comprised of 12 subunits in physiological conditions. CaMKII is an important member of the calcium/calmodulin-activated protein kinase family. It phosphorylates nearly 40 different proteins, including enzymes, ion channels, kinases, and transcription factors. CaMKII plays critical roles in neural synaptic stimulation and T cell receptor signaling. Recent studies suggested that high levels of CaMKII is also expressed in variety of cancers. It regulates proliferation, differentiation and survival of cancer cells.
