Purified anti-Gemin 6. Gem-associated protein 6 (Gemin 6) is a component of the survival of motor neurons (SMN) macromolecule protein complex, which plays an important role in the assembly and re-structuring of small nucleoproteins and transcriptosomes. The SMN complex localizes to the cytosol and nucleus of eukaryotic cells. ?Gemin 6 has been shown to form heterodimers with Gemin 7, and together they bind to unrip and sequester the SMN complex in the cytoplasm for small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNP) assembly3.
