    DescriptionSNCA / Alpha-Synuclein Antibody (C-Terminus) LS-C11497. Recognizes human alpha-synuclein. The alpha-synuclein gene, located on chromosome 4, has been linked to early onset autosomal dominant Parkinson's disease. The protein is abundant in the nervous system, and is known to be the precursor of the non-beta amyloid component protein (NACP) of Alzheimer's disease. Alpha-synuclein has also been found to be associated with other neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple system atrophy and dementia with Lewy's bodies.
