    DescriptionCD24 is a two-chain glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)- anchored glycoprotein expressed at multiple stages of B-cell development, whereas expression in plasma cell is very low or negative. In addition, it is expressed in a wide variety of human malignancies including B cell lymphoma, renal cell carcinoma, small cell and nonsmall cell lung carcinoma, glioma, epithelial ovarian cancer, and breast cancer. CD24 may play a role in regulation of B-cell proliferation and maturation, and has been described in the developing pancreas and brain, and in regenerating muscle, keratinocytes, and renal tubules.
