Description
Purified anti-PAR-2. Proteinase-activated receptor 2 (PAR-2), also known as G-protein coupled receptor 1 or thrombin receptor-like 1, is a receptor for trypsin and trypsin-like enzymes coupled to G proteins. The function of PAR-2 is mediated through the activation of multiple signaling pathways, including MAPK, phospholipase C, intracellular calcium, and I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB and Rho. PAR-2 is involved in the regulation of innate and adaptive immunity, the modulation of inflammatory responses, and as a sensor of proteolytic enzymes generated during the course of infection. PAR-2 is also involved in the recruitment of leukocytes to inflammation sites, promotion of dendritic cell maturation and trafficking to lymph nodes, production of superoxide, and T-cell activation.
Immunogen
This monoclonal antibody was raised against human PAR-2 protein and was mapped to amino acids 37-50.
