Description
Anti-NCOA3 Antibody validated for WB in Human. The nuclear receptor coactivator 3 also known as NCOA3 is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the NCOA3 gene. It is mapped to 20q13.12. This gene was amplified and overexpressed in breast and ovarian cancer cell lines, as well as in breast cancer biopsies, and altered NCOA3 expression may contribute to development of steroid-dependent cancers. NCOA3 is a transcriptional coactivator protein that contains several nuclear receptor interacting domains and an intrinsic histone acetyltransferase activity. In addition to those, this gene is recruited to DNA promotion sites by ligand-activated nuclear receptors. NCOA3, in turn, acylates histones, which makes downsteam DNA more accessible to transcription. Hence, NCOA3 assists nuclear receptors in the upregulation of gene expression.
