Description
Rabbit Anti-Human ERG polyclonal antibody for WB, ICC. Erg-3 (also known as p55, ets-related, TMPRSS2/ERG fusion, Transcriptional regulator ERG, Transcriptional protein ERG, v-ets avian erythroblastosis virus E26 oncogene related, v-ets erythroblastosis virus E26 oncogene homolog, v-ets erythroblastosis virus E26 oncogene like) is encoded by the ERG gene in human. ERG is a member of the erythroblast transformation-specific (ETS) family of transcriptions factors involved in embryonic development, cell proliferation, differentiation, angiogenesis, inflammation, and apoptosis. ERG contains an ETS DNA-binding domain and a PNT (pointed) domain which is implicated in the self-association of chimeric oncoproteins. In addition to the nucleus, ERG is also found associated with cytoplasmic mRNP granules containing untranslated mRNAs. Fusion gene products as a result of chromosomal translocations are found in prostate cancer (TMPSSR2-ERG and NDRG1-ERG), Ewings sarcoma (EWS-ERG), and acute myeloid leukemia (FUS-ERG).
