    DescriptionEpitope: Peptide sequence LFGGMEVCGL which lies in the conserved C domain. Cross-reacts with many invertebrate species. Stains neuropil and synaptic active zones. 3C11 recognizes the synapsin-1 cleaved fragment. Immunostaining is improved when fixed with zinc-formaldehyde instead of formaldehyde which allows for greater penetration of the 3C11 mAb in whole-mount brains. See PMID: 18585788.
