Description
EDG3 Polyclonal Antibody. Edg3 is a member of the EDG family of receptors which acts as a major functional receptor for a potent, extracellular lysolipid phosphoric acid mediator, S1P. It is the major S1P receptor subtype in the cardiovascular system, where it mediate the effects of S1P released from platelets, and possibly other tissues (such as brain). The receptor thus enhances endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and migration, playing a key role in developmental and pathological angiogenesis. The protein also mediates S1P-induced inflammatory response genes expression and can be used as drug targets to treat severe inflammation.
