Description
EDG8 Polyclonal Antibody. Sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor Edg8 is a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family and coupled to both the G (i/0) alpha and G (12) subclass of heteromeric G-proteins. Edg8 acts as a receptor for the bioactive lysosphingolipid sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) as well as for lysolipid mediator lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and gives diverse physiological effect on most types of cells and tissues. Edg8 may also play a regulatory role in the transformation of radial glial cells into astrocytes and affect proliferative activity of these cells.
