Description
This polyclonal antibody is directed against human IgG3 and is affinity purified. Cross reactivity with other animal sera has not been tested. Anti-Human IgG3 generated in sheep detects human Immunoglobulin IgG3. Human IgG is composed of four peptide chains - two heavy chains gamma and two light chains held together by disulfide bonds. The resulting Y structure has two identical halves which at the end of each end contains an identical antigen binding site. The Fc regions of IgGs bear a highly conserved N-glycosylation site. IgG affinity to the Fc receptors is specific to the host as well as class. Humans have 4 subclasses (IgG1, 2, 3, 4) present in serum, with IgG1 being most abundant and has the highest affinity to the Fc receptor. IgG3 is the third abundant subclass with high affinity for Fc binding. Secondary Antibodies are available in a variety of formats and conjugate types. When choosing a secondary antibody product, consideration must be given to species and immunoglobulin specificity, conjugate type, fragment and chain specificity, level of cross-reactivity, and host-species source and fragment composition.
Immunogen
Anti-Human IgG3 was produced in sheep by repeated immunizations with human IgG3 (Kappa and lambda) protein purified from human myeloma sera shown to be pure by SDS-PAGE and IEP.
