RAP proteins share approximately 50% amino acid identity with the classical RAS proteins and have numerous structural features in common. However, at their 61st amino acid the glutamine in RAS proteins is replaced by threonine in RAP proteins. RAP2A interacts with phospholipase C, epsilon 1 (PLCE1).
