Purity ~99% (HPLC). A cell-permeable stilbene derivative that serves as an aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) and acts as a highly specific and potent inducer of paraoxonase 1 (PON1). Shown to be a better activator of PON1 mRNA (EC50=1uM) and inducer of PON1 enzymatic activity (>3-fold at 5um) when compared to resveratrol. However, it is devoid of any activity against estrogen receptors and is not shown to inhibit activity of tyrosine kinases.
