Interleukin 2 Receptor, alpha (IL2RA) (Active) protein
Description
The IL2 receptor system consists of three non-covalently linked subunits termed IL2Ra, IL2Rbeta, and IL2R?. The IL2Ra is a type I transmembrane protein consisting of a 219 amino acid extracellular domain, a 19 amino acid transmembrane domain and a 13 amino acid intracellular domain, which is not involved in the transduction of IL2 signals. Proteolytic processing of IL2Ra releases the entire extracellular domain of IL2Ra thereby generating a 219 amino acid soluble protein called soluble IL2Ra (sIL2Ra). The homodimeric form binds IL2 (kDa=10nM) and facilitates IL2 signaling.
