Purity ~98% (RP-HPLC, SDS-PAGE). ProNGF is the pro-form of the neurotrophin nerve growth factor. Like the mature protein proNGF is characterized by the cysteine knot motif consisting of three cysteine bridges. The protein predominantly exists as a non-covalently linked homodimer. The proNGF is a 50kD dimer in solution, on SDS-PAGE monomer at 25-30kD is detected. To analyze this protein on an SDS-PAGE., DTT as a reduction agent is absolutely necessary.
