    DescriptionThe serum amyloid P component (SAP) is the identical serum form of amyloid P component (AP), a 25kDa pentameric protein first identified as the pentagonal constituent of in vivo pathological deposits called amyloid.'' It can interact with DNA and histones and may scavenge nuclear material released from damaged circulating cells. May also function as a calcium-dependent lectin. BioVision's APCS ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for the quantitative measurement of human APCS in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The density of color is proportional to the amount of human APCS captured from the samples.
