    DescriptionPurity >98% by HPLC. Na+ -A K+ ionophore. It stimulates mitochondral ATPase activity and disrupts membrane potential. Furthermore, it is shown to be highly effective as an ionophore for Pb2+, but not for other divalent cations. Antibiotic agent derived from Streptomyces hygroscopius, that is active against gram positive bacteria.
