Alytesin is an analogue of bombesin. Both are active tetradecapeptides from the skin of European discoglossid frogs. Alytesin's biological activity and structure are similar to those of bombesin. Synthetic bombesin and alytesin can potently decrease body temperature and stimulate pancreatic juice secretion.
