It has been involved in Prader-Willi syndrome, which includes hyperphagia, repetitive and compulsive behaviors, and cognitive impairment. Recombinant human MAGED1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.
