In addition, pregnenolone is biologically active as a neurosteroid which affects synaptic functioning, are neuroprotective, and enhance myelinization. BioVision's pregnenolone ELISA kit is a competitive ELISA assay for the quantitative measurement of pregnenolone in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The density of color is proportional to the amount of pregnenolone captured from the samples.
