Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 6 (CDK6 belongs to the CMGC Ser/Thr protein kinase family and CDC2/CDKX subfamily. CDK6 is expressed in many tissues and contains one protein kinase domain. This cyclin forms a complex with and functions as a regulatory subunit of CDK4 or CDK6, whose activity is required for cell cycle G1/S transition.
