Bromocriptine is a potent Cytochrome P450 3A inhibitor (~770 nM, see cat#K702). It also acts as a dopamine receptor agonist via the D2 receptor (Ki = 2.5 nM). As a result, it is used in combination therapy for Parkinsons disease. It also binds to the serotonin receptors 5-HT1A and 5-HT1D (Ki = 12.9 and 10.7 nM, respectively), as well as α and β adrenoreceptors and inhibits neuronal nitric oxide synthase (IC50 = 10 μM).
