| Description | BiP, also known as GRP78 BiP, is one member of the family of 70KD heat shock proteins. It may associate transiently with a variety of newly synthesized secretory and membrane proteins. And it binds to misfolded proteins to prevent them from forming aggregates and assists in proper refolding. The Lys-Asp-Glu-Leu (KDEL) sequence of BiP is present at the C terminus of BiP and this sequence seems to be necessary for retention.BiP Antibody is developed in rabbit using a KLH-coupled synthetic peptide within residues 250-00 of human BiP (Swiss Prot: P11021). |
