Description
Purity ~97%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and visualized by silver stain. Endotoxin: ≤1EU/ug (LAL). The mature recombinant human BMP-10, generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide and the propeptide, is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein. Based on N-terminal sequencing, the mature recombinant human BMP-10 starts at Asn 317. The monomer has a calculated molecular mass of 12.2kD and migrates as an approximately 12.2kD protein in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Activity: Measured by its ability to induce alkaline phosphatase synthesis by MC3T3E1 osteoblastic cells (Mazerbourg, S. et al., 2005, J. Biol. Chem. 280:32122). The ED50 for this effect is typically 15-60ng/mL. Reconstitution: It is recommended that sterile 4mM HCI containing at least 0.1% human serum albumin or bovine serum albumin be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of no less than 10ug/mL.
