Description
Galectin14, aka LGALS14, is a member of the galectin family of carbohydrate binding proteins. Galectin family members contain one or two carbohydrate recognition domains, which can bind beta-galactoside. The LGALS14 gene is predominantly expressed in the placenta. LGALS14 is expressed intracellularly in the placenta and eosinophils and is released by eosinophils following allergen stimulation.
