An intermediate in the dissociated (or type II) fatty acid biosynthesis that occurs in bacteria; generated following the reaction of hexadecenoyl-ACP with malonyl-ACP by the enzyme β-ketoacyl-ACP synthase II (EC 2.3.1.179), which produces 3-oxo octadecenoyl-ACP
