Description
Thyroxine binding is a protein with a molecular weight of 55,700 kD. The protein is binding thyroxine as well as triiodothyronine. In immunoelectrophoresis it has a alpha mobility. The mean concentration in normal human serum is about 40mg/mL. Elevated levels are observed during oestrogen administration, pregnancy hypothyroidism. Reduced levels are observed in hypothyroidism.Synonyms: SERPINA7, Serpin A7, T4-binding globulin
