Cysteine--tRNA ligase, cytoplasmic, also known as, Cysteinyl-tRNA synthetase (CysRS), and encoded by the gene name CARS, is a member of the class-I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family that localizes to the cytoplasm. A chromosomal aberration involving CARS is associated with inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMTs).
