Description
This purified monoclonal antibody is directed against cytomegalovirus and was purified by Ion exchange chromatography. Purity was confirmed by ELISA to be >95% pure. Ten to forty percent of the patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) develop Cytomegalovirus infections. It is typically abbreviated as HCMV or CMV. It is also known as human herpesvirus-5 (HHV-5). In some patients with AIDS, the virus is detected in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), urine, and other specimens, even when there are no symptoms of the disease. An indicator of active infection is needed to facilitate the diagnosis of cytomegalovirus disease in patients with AIDS or HIV infection. Cytomegalovirus was detected in the leukocytes of both the peripheral blood and BALF during the early phase of the disease. Anti-Human (CMV) Cytomegalovirus Antigen Antibody is useful for researchers interested in infectious disease.
Immunogen
Mouse monoclonal Anti-Human Cytomegalovirus was produced in mice by repeated immunizations with HCMV infected cells.
