Trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS) is a silylation reagent commonly used in synthetic applications and to derivatize samples prior to GC or GCMS analysis. TMCS, also known as Chlorotrimethylsilane can be used directly as a silylation reagent or to catalyze other silylation reactions.
