Description
This antibody has been developed against the mutated version of Bri (see T-1515) called ABri. The unusual extension of Bri by 34 amino acids is cleaved by the protease furin. The ensuing 4 kD peptide contributes to the deposition of insoluble amyloid fibrils in the brain, leading to the pathology of familial British dementia. The antibody was developed against the carboxy-terminal portion of ABri, recognizing the mutated ABri as well as the cleaved 34 amino acids containing peptide.
