Description
This antibody is applicable on cultured cells, however the epitope is lost on primary cells after enzymatic digestion. In addition to biliary epithelium, A6 recognizes a wide variety of stratified and simple epithelium of ectodermal, mesodermal and endodermal origin in adult and embryonic tissues plus primary heptocarcinoma. See Table 3 in PMID 2292360. This antibody recognizes the A6 antigen in frozen sections in unfixed, acetone, ethanol, methanol and paraformaldehyde fixed sections. Also, with antigen retrieval or enzymatic digestion with Proteinase K (20ug/ml in PBS;10-30 min), formalin-fixed paraffin embedded sections are sucessful labeled.
