Product Specifications Biotin-Pro-IGF-II: Biotin-Pro-IGF-II is prepared by a selective biotinylation procedure. Affinity of the biotinylated precursor was compared with biotinylated IGF-II. Scientific papers on affinity of the precursor to IGFBP?s are somewhat controversial. We found no significant difference of affinities of biotinylated IGF-II or biotinylated pro-IGF-II to IGFBP-3 in western-ligand blotting experiments. This is in agreement with the results of Zapf (J. Zapf, IGFs: function and clinical importance, 3 Role of insulin-like growth factor (IGF) II and IGF binding proteins in extrapancreatic tumor hypoglycemia. J Intern Med 1993;234; 543-552).Formulation: Lyophilised from a solution of 0.5 ml TBS, pH 7.4, containing 4 μg of the biotinylated product . A preservative and a stabilising protein of non-mammalian origin are added to ensure stability of the reconstituted product.Recommended dilution: 1: 100 to 1: 500 for western ligand blotting. Tested with our western-ligand blotting kit.Storage: Store refrigerated upon arrival. The product is stable at 4 °C for at least one year. Reconstitute with 0.5 ml water and store aliquots frozen at - 20 °C. Avoid repeated freeze-thawing cycles.
