Product Specifications [Leu60]IGF-I: [Leu60]IGF-I is an analog of human IGF-I with a substitution of Leu for Tyr at position 60 of the human IGF-I sequence. Compared to IGF-I, [Leu60]IGF-I has greatly reduced binding to both the Type 1 IGF receptor and the insulin receptor, but binding to acid-stripped human serum binding proteins is unaltered. Consequently, [Leu60]IGF-I is an extremely useful analog of IGF-I for investigating IGF actions largely independent of binding to the Type 1 IGF receptor. [Leu60]IGF-I has a lower affinity for the Type 1 IGF and the insulin receptors than [Leu24]IGF-I. Source:[Leu60]IGF-I is produced recombinantly as a fusion protein in E.coli using a patented expression system. The fusion protein containing [Leu60]IGF-I is refolded, and after the leader peptide is removed, the [Leu60]IGF-I product is purified to Receptor Grade using several chromatography steps.
