Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is historically used to transform human B cells, but with low rate of success. In the Human Blood B Booster? kit (DDXK-HuBBB) EBV (produced according a proprietary process by Dendritics) in combination with activation through CD40 is used to obtain long term B cell lines representative of the overall B repertoire. The HuBBB process gives access to a larger B cell repertoire than the other alternative B cell immortalization methods. The resulting cells can be used for a broad spectrum of genomic, transcriptomic or proteomic analysis.
