It plays an important role in the elongation step of protein synthesis. unlike most ribosomal proteins, which are basic, the encoded protein is acidic. Recombinant human RPLP2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
