Tetradecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide is quaternary ammonium compound used in immunoassays for eliciting antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi. Microcide II is not removed during lyophilization, but since this antimicrobial has a positively-charged property, it can be complexed with very negatively-charged materials.
