Description
Activity: ≥100units/mg dry weight. Collagenases degrade native helical collagen fibrils. The substrate, collagen, is the major fibrous component of animal extracellular connective tissue: skin, tendon, blood vessels, bone, etc. Suitable for use in cell dissociation procedures. Collagenase is prepared to contain lower tryptic activity levels to limit damage to membrane proteins and receptors but with normal to above normal collagenase activity. Suitable for use in pancreatic islet primary isolation and other applications where receptor integrity is crucial. Cofactors: Zinc, Calcium Collagenase nomenclature: Type 1 Containing average amounts of assayed activities (collagenase, caseinase, clostripain and tryptic activities).
