Product Specifications Biotin- Des(1-3) IGF-I: Biotin- Des (1-3) IGF-I is prepared by a selective biotinylation procedure. As in the non-biotinylated analog, binding to IGF-binding proteins 1 to 5 is reduced. No binding to IGFBP-6 was detected. Due to its reduced binding affinity to the IGFBP's, Biotin - Des (1-3) IGF-I may be used for selective detection of IGF-I receptors on western blots, for binding studies or in immunohistochemistry. The use of biotinylated Des (1-3) IGF-I in flow cytometry has been reported by Xu et al. (1995), Immunology 85, 394-399. The affinity to IGFBP?s is reduced compared to IGF-I. Examples of applications of biotinylated IGF's can be seen in application note 4. Molecular Weight:7722.5 Da.Formulation: Lyophilised from a solution of 0.5 ml TBS, pH 7.4, containing 10 μg of the biotinylated product . A preservative and a stabilising protein of non-mammalian origin are added to ensure stability of the reconstituted product. Recommended dilution: 1: 100 for western ligand blotting. Tested with our western ligand blotting kit reagents.Storage: Store refrigerated upon arrival. The product is stable at 4 °C for at least one year. Reconstitute with 0.5 ml water and store aliquots frozen at - 20 °C. Avoid repeated freeze-thawing cycles.
