Identified as off-target monoclonal antibody in screen for anti-FGF14 NeuroMabs (immunogen was fusion protein amino acids 1-252, of full-length mouse FGF14b). Target identified as S-tag epitope (KETAAAKFERQHMDS, a 15 amino acid sequence derived from the pancreatic ribonuclease A and now frequently used as a protein tag) by ELISA and immunoblot against other S-tag fusion proteins.
