Fibrin is mechanically removed during the clotting process without the presence of anticoagulants or other additives. Defibrinated bovine blood is ideal for blood agar plate preparations. Blood Agar is a general purpose enriched medium often used to grow fastidious organisms and to differentiate bacteria based on their hemolytic properties. Defibrinated bovine blood is perishable and is collected and processed upon receipt of your order. No preservative.
