Chromostatin is a 20-residue peptide derived from chromogranin A (CGA), the major soluble component of secretory granules in adrenal medullary chromaffin cells. One known biological function of chromostatin is to inhibit the secretagogue-evoked catecholamine secretion from chromaffin cells.
