Description
Purified anti-DNMT1. DNA (Cytisube-5-)-Methyltransferase 1 (DNMT-1), is an enzyme that has a role in the establishment and regulation of tissue-specific patterns of? methylated cytosine residues. This enzyme associates with DNA replication sites in the S phase and methylates CpG residues to maintain the methylation pattern in the newly synthesized strand, that is essential for epigenetic inheritance. In addition to this, it associates with DNA during the G2 and M phases to maintain DNA methylation. Diseases associated with abnormal DNMT-1 function include certain human tumors and developmental abnormalities. There are two transcript encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
